Military reports on the occupiers' attempts to break into Pokrovsk: fighting is ongoing, but the situation in the city remains calm.

The Russian army is attempting to advance towards Pokrovsk from both the left and right flanks in an effort to encircle the city. Three Russian combined arms divisions are concentrated in that area.

The Russian army is attempting to break through to Pokrovsk from both the left and right flanks in order to encircle the city. There are units from three Russian combined arms armies concentrated there.

This was stated by the spokesperson of the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsa," Viktor Trehubov, as reported by RBK-Ukraine during a telethon.

According to him, the Russians continue their attempts to penetrate Pokrovsk; however, there are currently no battles in the city or its surroundings.

"The direction remains one of the hottest. There are no enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the city yet. The enemy is trying to advance as far as possible from the outskirts of Pokrovsk and break through the left and right flanks of the Defense Forces to encircle the city itself," Trehubov explained.

Fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction against an opponent that significantly outnumbers in personnel.

"Against us, there are concentrated, (in particular - ed.) units from three Russian combined arms armies from the 2nd, 41st, and 51st Central Military District... The battles there are very intense because the Russian occupiers are deploying all available forces and trying to break through our troops' defenses," Trehubov said.

Situation on the Front in the Pokrovsk Direction

According to media reports, the Russians may be preparing an offensive on Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. This operation could be the culmination of the Russian offensive operation in this direction.

It was previously reported that over 70,000 Russian troops are concentrated in this area.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that for several months now, the Pokrovsk direction has remained one of the most challenging in the context of the confrontation with Russian occupiers. Russian losses there are consistently high.
