The police have uncovered a group of medical professionals from the Military Medical Commission (VVK) in Dnipro. The suspects were taking bribes to falsely register military conscripts as HIV-positive in order to remove them from military records.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the National Police.

It has been noted that officials and doctors from the military medical commission of one of the district Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) and other medical facilities in Dnipro were involved in falsifying blood test results for HIV.

False information was entered into medical documents and the "Monitoring of Socially Significant Diseases" information system. Such actions allowed "sick" men to be removed from military records and to leave Ukraine without hindrance.

For these "services," military conscripts paid $10,000.

Law enforcement, with the support of the special unit TOR of the Patrol Police Department, conducted 19 searches at the residences and registrations of the suspects, as well as in their offices and vehicles. They seized equipment, medical documentation, and other items confirming involvement in illegal activities.

The police are currently investigating a criminal case under part 3 of article 362 and part 3 of article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspects face up to 10 years in prison, along with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years, and confiscation of property.

Illegal Border Crossing

At the beginning of the year, the police conducted over 600 simultaneous searches as part of investigations into the illegal departure of military conscripts abroad. Almost 50 schemes for illegal border crossing were dismantled across 22 regions of Ukraine.

Additionally, the police recently reported new large-scale searches. Law enforcement uncovered criminal schemes for smuggling men across the border in 19 regions and conducted 270 searches.

Furthermore, the State Bureau of Investigations (GBR) announced suspicion against a member of parliament for organizing the illegal smuggling of men across the border. According to sources at RBK-Ukraine, the suspicion was handed to MP Konstantin Bondarev from the Batkivshchyna party.
