At night, Russia launched over 80 drones at Ukraine. How many were intercepted by air defense forces?

On the night of Thursday, January 30, the Russian army launched 81 strike drones over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces were active in 10 regions of the country.

During the night of January 30, 2025, starting from 7:00 PM on January 29, the enemy attacked with 81 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of drone decoys from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsk-Akhtarsk.

The aerial assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9:00 AM, the downing of 37 Shahed-type strike drones and other types of drones has been confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Odesa regions.

Additionally, 39 enemy drone decoys were locally lost without negative consequences.

As a result of the enemy attack, the Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Poltava regions were affected. Industrial enterprises, private homes, and apartment buildings, as well as vehicles, were damaged. An enemy strike drone hit a high-rise building in Sumy. Unfortunately, there are fatalities; emergency services are working to mitigate the aftermath, and assistance is being provided to the victims.

Night Attack on Ukrainian Territory

We remind you that on the night of January 30, the Russian army traditionally launched strike drones over Ukrainian territory. Air raid alerts were declared in several regions.

It is also known that the enemy struck one of the high-rise buildings in the city of Sumy. As a result of the drone strike, apartments were destroyed. According to the regional military administration, the number of casualties from the night attack has risen to four. Nine others sustained injuries of varying severity, including a child.

Furthermore, destruction has been reported in the Poltava region.
