The Russian Federation has significantly intensified its shelling of civilians in Kherson since the summer. Russian military forces have turned the city into a training ground.
According to RBK-Ukraine, this opinion was expressed by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Alexander Prokudin, as reported by Financial Times.
He stated that the Russians have deployed some of their best drone operator units to Kherson. The occupiers are launching top-tier drone models from the opposite bank of the Dnieper at the city center. This way, they are honing combat techniques and training new drone operators.
The primary targets for the Russians are moving objects or vehicles. The highest number of drone attacks was recorded in September of this year - 2,748. At that time, the most injuries were reported - 155. In October, the highest number of casualties due to drone attacks was also recorded - 12 people.
Most frequently, the Russians target military vehicles, ambulances, police cars, fire trucks, and humanitarian convoys with their drones. Enemy drones pose a threat to civilians, especially in crowded places such as markets, gas stations, cafes, post offices, and humanitarian aid centers.
For the shelling of Kherson, the Russians use FPV drones, Chinese Mavic drones, and occasionally larger Russian Lancet drones.
Previously, we reported that the Russian Federation may soon carry out an operation aimed at advancing on Kherson. According to sources, the occupiers are moving equipment to the left bank of the Dnieper to construct pontoon crossings.
