The city of Kharkiv was subjected to a massive aerial assault using drones on the night of March 1. Strikes were recorded in three districts, resulting in injuries to seven individuals.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Kharkiv's mayor Igor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleg Synegubov.
The mayor of Kharkiv stated that the number of injured had risen to seven, up from an earlier report of five casualties.
As clarified by the regional military administration, there were no hospitalizations due to the enemy strikes in Kharkiv. Medical assistance was provided to the injured on-site.
The mayor reported that a total of 9 drone strikes of the "Shahed" type were carried out across the city that night.
Additionally, local authorities mentioned that more than 60 patients were evacuated from a medical facility that was damaged by a drone strike, which caused a fire.
The Kharkiv Regional Police released photos showing the aftermath of the massive drone attack on Kharkiv. They noted that approximately 9 strikes were recorded in the Kyiv, Shevchenkivskyi, and Novobavarskyi districts of the city.
According to the police, one of the munitions struck a building in the city center that had already been damaged previously. Another "hit" occurred on the premises of a medical facility, igniting a fire.
Impacts were also recorded near residential buildings, on the roof of a high-rise, near stores, and gas stations. Moreover, a private house caught fire, the police reported.
"As a result of the shelling, seven people were injured. They sustained wounds from glass and acute stress reactions," the National Police of Ukraine reported.
Law enforcement officials added that buildings of medical institutions, glazing of residential buildings and shops, non-residential structures, and vehicles were damaged. Fires broke out at several locations.
"Investigative and operational groups, criminologists, and explosives experts promptly arrived at the scenes. They are collecting evidence and documenting the aftermath of the massive strike," the police stated.
The State Emergency Service reported that occupiers launched massive strikes on the Kyiv, Shevchenkivskyi, and Novobavarskyi districts of Kharkiv, as well as in the Kharkiv district of the region.
As a result of the shelling, the following were damaged:
"One of the drones hit a three-story medical facility, causing a fire on the roof. A joint effort by rescuers, police, medical personnel, and volunteers resulted in the evacuation of 64 people, including 56 patients and a child. Preliminary reports indicate that 7 individuals were injured," the State Emergency Service reported.
Recall that on the evening of February 28, Russian occupiers attacked the territory of Ukraine with strike drones. Due to this, air raid alerts were declared in several regions.
It was also reported that there were "hits" in Kharkiv and the Odesa region, with reports of casualties due to enemy shelling, and a fire occurred in a medical facility in Kharkiv due to the "Shahed" attack.
Additionally, explosions were heard in Kyiv that night, and reports of air defense operations were made due to the drone attack.
