In Ukraine, over the year from October 2023 to October 2024, the overall tariffs for utility services have increased by 18.6%.
This was reported by the State Statistics Service.
The most significant rise was in electricity prices, which surged by 63.6%. According to the data, in addition to electricity, the following services also experienced considerable increases:
- management of apartment buildings – by 10.2%;
- garbage collection – by 5.7%;
- housing maintenance and repairs – by 4.8%.
At the same time, the cost of several other utility services remained unchanged:
- water supply;
- sewerage;
- natural gas;
- hot water and heating.
Regarding the electricity tariff, it will not change until May 1, 2025. Therefore, during the autumn-winter period of 2024/2025, specifically in November 2024, the price for 1 kWh will be 4.32 UAH.
This is regulated by Resolution No. 632, which states that the electricity tariff for residential consumers will remain unchanged until the end of April 2025.
At the same time, according to forecasts from the president of the Globalization Center "Strategy XXI," Mykhailo Gonchar, after the heating season of 2024 (usually concluded by April 15), gas prices in Ukraine may increase. The main reasons for a potential hike include the need to develop domestic gas production and maintain the existing infrastructure in proper condition.
