Speeding on the roads of Ukraine leads to fines and significantly increases the risk of traffic accidents (accidents), reports Politeka.net.
The press service of the Patrol Police of the Kharkiv region reminded about the permissible speeds on different sections of the roads and the associated fines.
- In populated areas, the maximum speed is 50 km/h;
- In residential and pedestrian zones – up to 20 km/h;
- Outside populated areas - up to 90 km/h;
- On roads with divided lanes – up to 110 km/h;
- On highways, the maximum speed is 130 km/h.
Politeka reports that the police urge drivers to be attentive and adhere to speed limits for the safety of all road users.
The First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Beloshytskyi, stated that in the "Diia" mobile app, users can now view photos and videos of violations captured by automatic cameras.
Fines for speeding are as follows:
- 340 hryvnias - for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h;
- 1700 hryvnias - for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h.
If the fine is paid within ten banking days after receiving the order, the amount is reduced by 50%.
Fines for traffic violations can be paid:
- through official apps and services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- in the "Diia" mobile app - using card details, as well as through ApplePay or GooglePay;
- at banking institutions in Ukraine (using the provided details).
