The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended yet another agent of the Russian special services in the Donetsk region – a Ukrainian woman who supported Russia's bloody policies.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The woman provided the occupiers with critical information about the locations of Ukrainian military forces and was awaiting developments in Kramatorsk.
According to the investigation, the detained individual was a local pensioner and a former police officer who began working for the enemy due to her acquaintance, also a former police officer. In 2014, he joined the "DPR" terrorists, and with the onset of full-scale war, he became the commander of one of the reconnaissance assault brigades of the Russian armed forces.
At the direction of her Russian handlers, the agent transmitted precise coordinates of fortified positions and fire points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kramatorsk direction to her "contact." The enemy was particularly interested in data regarding the positions of Ukrainian troops' rocket artillery, as well as the routes used by vehicles delivering fuel to the front.
To gather intelligence, the woman drove around the area in her own vehicle and covertly recorded military objects.
The SBU counterintelligence timely identified the traitor, located her, and apprehended her. SBU investigators informed her of the suspicion under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason in conditions of martial law).
The detainee is currently in custody, facing a potential life sentence with asset confiscation.
