On the night of January 17, the occupiers launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine and also attacked with 50 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of imitation drones.
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 33 enemy UAVs were successfully shot down.
The missiles were launched from the Rostov region, while the drones attacked from five directions: Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
As of 9 AM, the downing of 33 "Shaheds" and other types of drones has been confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.
Impacts from enemy strike drones were recorded at facilities in the Odesa region.
As reported by the head of the OVA, Oleg Kiper, the target of the Russians was the port infrastructure, resulting in damage to the facades of buildings and a residential house due to the enemy attack.
As a result of the downed drones, buildings of institutions, a private enterprise, and homes in the Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Kyiv regions were damaged.
According to data from the Kyiv OVA, a child was injured in the attack, with suspicion of a concussion and a laceration on the thigh. The child was hospitalized.
Nine enemy imitation drones were lost in terms of location (without negative consequences), and one UAV exited Ukraine’s airspace in the direction of Romania.
