An official from the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) and his accomplices have been exposed for embezzling over 6 million UAH during the war, funds intended for purchasing spare parts for ambulances.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

The official from the municipal organization "Kyivmedspetstrans" and four of his accomplices have been detained on suspicion of embezzling budget funds. According to the investigation, they misappropriated money that was allocated for the purchase of auto parts for ambulances.

The investigation revealed that the criminal scheme was organized by the head of the material and technical support service of Kyivmedspetstrans. He involved three directors from controlled private companies and their accountant in the scheme.

Members of the organized group collaboratively devised a plan to seize budget funds, allocated roles, and executed their criminal activities. In particular, the official from "Kyivmedspetstrans" inflated the cost of tender purchases, allowing only controlled firms to participate, which subsequently won the tender. These companies then supplied auto parts at inflated prices, transferring the excess funds to their own accounts.

Judicial economic examinations confirmed the unjustified price inflation exceeding 6 million UAH. It was also found that to avoid criminal liability, the scheme's organizer was reassigned to a lower position.

The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspects is currently being resolved. The penalties for the alleged crimes could result in up to 12 years of imprisonment, with a prohibition on holding certain positions and confiscation of property.
