Ukrainian forces halted the assault near Velyka Novosilka as Russian troops aim to encircle the settlement.

The Russian army attempted to break through the positions of Ukrainian forces near Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region. The enemy's assault was halted.

This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing OSUV "Khortytsia" on Telegram.

According to military sources, in the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy continues to conduct active offensive operations aimed at blocking Velyka Novosilka.

"Our warriors are holding the defense in the vicinity of the settlement, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Additionally, with the support of armored vehicles, the enemy army engaged in assault actions towards Konstantinople," the report states.

During the repulsion of the assaults, two enemy armored vehicles were destroyed as a result of fire damage.

Situation on the Front

Over the past day, on January 20, there were 152 combat clashes along the front line. Almost half of the battles were recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation (RF) has already lost over 822,000 personnel. Just yesterday, during the course of the day, its losses amounted to about 1,600 personnel.
