The enemy struck Sumy with "Shahed" drones, damaging a high-rise building and leaving one person injured.

The city of Sumy was attacked by Russian occupiers using "Shahed" kamikaze drones on the night of February 25. A residential building was damaged due to the enemy strike, and there is information about an injured person.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar.

The acting mayor stated that there was another "arrival" of a "Shahed" near Lake Chekha (the water body is located in the Zarechny district of Sumy).

"Many windows were blown out in the high-rise building. The State Emergency Service and the police are working at the scene," he said in his video address.

Additionally, the Sumy City Council reported that, according to preliminary data, there is one injured person receiving medical assistance.

Kobzar added that a headquarters for dealing with the consequences of the emergency situation will be established.

"If any damage is found in the premises, it is necessary to contact the police at line 102 to document this fact," the city council conveyed.

Later, the acting mayor mentioned that a second powerful explosion heard in Sumy was also due to a "Shahed" strike. According to him, the "arrival" occurred on the other side of Lake Chekha.

Updated: The number of injured has increased

Later, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Sergey Krivosheyenko, told "Suspilne" that two people are already known to have been injured as a result of the "Shahed" attack on the city.

Night Air Attack on Ukraine

It was previously reported that on the evening of February 24, the launch of strike drones by Russian occupiers towards Ukraine was recorded for yet another air attack. Enemy kamikaze drones entered the country's airspace from various directions.

Due to the threat of a "Shahed" attack, air raid alerts were declared in several regions. Additionally, reports were made of air defense operations in Kyiv and the surrounding area.

Amid threats of missile and bomb strikes, explosions were heard in the Kharkiv region. It was later revealed that occupiers shelled Derhachi in the Kharkiv region, resulting in injuries to two individuals and damage to private residential homes.
