The High Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure for the former head of the Economic Court of Lviv Region.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has chosen a preventive measure of arrest for the former head of the Economic Court of Lviv Oblast. He is suspected of bribery.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referring to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on Telegram.

"The court partially granted the request of NABU detectives, approved by the SAP prosecutor, and applied a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative to pay a 12 million UAH bail," the statement said.

The VAKS notes that the preventive measure is effective until February 20, 2025, inclusive.

Scheme in the Economic Court of Lviv Oblast

It should be recalled that it was previously revealed that a judge of the Economic Court of Lviv Oblast and the former head of this court were caught in bribery.

As law enforcement officials found out, they demanded 1 million dollars from a representative of a private company. In return, the defendants promised "to make the necessary decisions" on the court cases pending in one of the appellate economic courts.

According to law enforcement, the judges received the first part of the bribe amounting to 75 thousand dollars.

Sources from RBK-Ukraine reported that judge of the Economic Court of Lviv Oblast Vasily Artymovych, who is a suspect in this case, was arrested on December 13.
