The police recorded over 340 cases of military vehicle arson over the past year. In 2023, these were isolated incidents.
This information comes from RBK-Ukraine, referencing a statement by Andrey Nebytov, the Deputy Head of the National Police.
According to him, since the beginning of 2024, Russian special services have begun actively recruiting Ukrainians through social media with the aim of carrying out terrorist acts, damaging property, obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and conducting sabotage.
"If we consider individual cases of military vehicle arson, as of today, we have already recorded 341 such crimes," Nebytov stated.
The Deputy Head of the National Police noted that most of the arsons occurred during the spring and summer months. In 219 cases of vehicle arson, law enforcement has already announced suspicions.
Nebytov added that last year these were isolated cases.
It is important to note that Russian special services are recruiting Ukrainians, often teenagers, to carry out sabotage activities on Ukrainian territory. This includes the arson of military vehicles, as well as fires on railways and electrical substations.
Additionally, there has been an increase in sabotage against police, security forces, and military personnel recently.
RBK-Ukraine previously reported that a wave of sabotage with explosions against security forces was recorded in Kyiv.
