In the vicinity of Sumy city, a blast was heard shortly after midnight on November 18, causing power outages in the area. Prior to this, the movement of an enemy missile heading towards the regional center was recorded.

The explosion in Sumy was audible around 00:06.
Additionally, military officials had warned just minutes before about the threat of ballistic weapon use by Russian occupiers from the northeast.
Moreover, a missile was detected heading towards Sumy city.
It should also be noted that enemy strike drones were observed in the Sumy region, particularly in the Konotop district.
According to media reports and local Telegram channels, power was lost in parts of Sumy following the explosion.

As later reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration, around 00:01, Russian terrorists launched a missile strike on the city's critical infrastructure.
Preliminarily, the enemy used a ballistic missile for the attack.
It was noted that power was lost in Sumy, and emergency services are currently responding.
"The consequences of the strike are being assessed," the administration added.
It is important to highlight that this attack occurred just a few hours after a missile strike on a residential area in Sumy, where a missile hit near a nine-story building.
According to the latest reports, the missile attack in Sumy resulted in the deaths of 10 people, including two children. Over 50 civilians sustained injuries.
