Following the shooting incident near Kyiv, the Ground Forces urged against demonizing the Territorial Defense Forces.

The Ground Forces reached out to the media after a member of the alert group shot a man near Kyiv. The military urged not to demonize the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF).

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ground Forces noted that the alert group involved in the incident included TDF soldiers, National Police officers, and "Municipal Guard" personnel. The group was checking the documents of drivers and passengers.

During one of these checks, it was discovered that the driver of a vehicle was wanted for violating military registration rules. The passenger of that vehicle ran out, then "struck a member of the Municipal Guard and began to flee."

After that, the Municipal Guard employee chased the man and fired from a traumatic weapon. There were no injuries as a result of the incident, and the man escaped in an unknown direction.

"We ask all media platforms not to demonize the TDF and SP servicemen and to rely solely on official information," the statement said.

It is worth noting that information about the shooting near Kyiv first appeared online. In particular, videos were released showing a man in military uniform firing a weapon.

Following this, the Ministry of Defense stated that an employee of the TDF was involved in the incident.

In this context, the police have already opened a criminal case. The man who fired several shots faces a prison sentence.
