This morning, the Security Service of Ukraine detained Colonel Dmitry Kozyura, the head of the Antiterrorism Center, for collaborating with Russian intelligence services. The operation was personally overseen by the SBU Chairman, Vasily Malyuk.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine with a link to the SBU press service.
According to the SBU, an unprecedented special operation involving a complex array of overt and covert measures was carried out to detain the enemy agent.
"The traitor had been under the scrutiny of SBU internal security for a significant period. We effectively surrounded him from all sides, monitoring every move of the 'rat' around the clock – his contacts, communications, messages; we literally 'lived' in his phone, and he was constantly under audio and video surveillance," the SBU reported.
According to Malyuk, he personally oversaw the case and reported on the development and implementation of the special operation directly to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It is noted that the SBU not only exposed Kozyura for treason but also used him in a counterintelligence operation: through the traitor, the Security Service transmitted a large amount of disinformation to the enemy. Additionally, to prevent any harm to Ukraine's national security, the subject's access to truly sensitive information was restricted.
"Such a special operation demonstrates that the SBU is capable of responding promptly to threats and effectively countering the enemy. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have conducted a serious cleansing process that continues to this day. We are doing everything possible to protect our state from internal and external enemies," stated SBU Chairman Vasily Malyuk.
The materials of the criminal case document 14 significant episodes of the FSB's agency network activities. The traitors' task was to relay information about troop deployments, armaments, the state of critical infrastructure, and the results of missile strikes to the enemy.
The traitor, recruited by the FSB in Vienna in 2018, was "frozen" for some time but resumed contacts with Russian handlers in December 2024. He maintained communication with the FSB through a clandestine apartment in Kyiv, using specialized communication tools.
Relatives of the traitor, who justify Russian aggression, are also implicated in the case. They are expected to be charged under Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The handler of the agency has also been identified as Yuri Shatalov from the FSB.
The SBU possesses irrefutable evidence of the crime, including intercepted conversations, videos, and documents. The official has been charged with treason (Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), facing life imprisonment and asset confiscation.
This morning, the Security Service announced a large-scale special operation during which a Russian agent was uncovered.
According to sources from RBK-Ukraine, the traitor turned out to be Colonel Dmitry Kozyura, the head of the Antiterrorism Center Staff at the SBU.
