In Russia, reports emerged of drone attacks, prompting air defense responses in five different regions.

Russian military officials reported yet another attack by unidentified drones on the evening of Wednesday, January 1. Russian air defense systems were active in five regions.

This information comes from RBK-Ukraine citing The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the enemy agency, Russia was allegedly attacked by drones this evening. Between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM Moscow time, Russian air defense reportedly destroyed 14 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.

Two drones were downed over Belgorod region, four over Voronezh region, five over Rostov region, two over Tula region, and one over Oryol region.

Drone Attacks in Russia

It is worth noting that at the airport in the Russian city of Saransk on the evening of Wednesday, January 1, the "carpet" mode was declared. This was allegedly due to a threat from drones.

Additionally, in the city of Yartsevo in Smolensk region, there was an aerial attack involving drones on the night of December 31.

Recently, Russians also reported a drone attack. In the night of Tuesday, December 31, the Russian air defense supposedly shot down 68 drones.
