In the Rada, they do not view the checks by the TCK, similar to the one conducted after the concert of the "Okean Elzy" band in Kyiv, as a threat. On the contrary, they should be regular.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Facebook of the MP and head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Mykyta Poturaiev.
"No, I do not consider the document checks after the 'Okean Elzy' concert a threat to Ukrainian culture. Just like after any public or mass event," he stated.
According to the MP, he does not see checks in bars or clubs as a threat to the Ukrainian economy either.
"Moreover - I welcome such checks and believe that they should be thorough and ongoing. And everyone should be aware of this," Poturaiev confirmed.
The MP's comments were prompted by the check of TCK staff on fans of the 'Okean Elzy' band after the concert on October 11 near the Sports Palace in Kyiv. The men who attended the event had their documents checked, and some were detained by the police.
The day after, on October 12, the leader of the 'Okean Elzy' band, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk commented for the first time on the incident with the TCK checks after the concert. The singer was reserved and refrained from evaluating the situation.
