Soldiers from North Korea have been engaged in combat operations in the Kursk region of Russia. The United States believes there are clear indicators of North Korean casualties.
According to RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by U.S. Department of Defense spokesperson General Patrick Ryder, as reported by Sky News.
"We believe that North Korean soldiers participated in combat in Kursk... we have evidence that they suffered losses, both killed and wounded," Ryder stated.
He noted that the U.S. currently lacks detailed information regarding the number of casualties on the North Korean side.
This morning, Ukrainian intelligence reported that North Korean army units have launched an assault on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the Kursk region. North Koreans have sustained losses, prompting the need for reinforcements.
Earlier, Ukrainian military personnel released a video featuring what are likely the first North Korean soldiers killed in the war against Ukraine. However, the overall casualties may be higher.
It is also worth noting that the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrey Kovalenko, discussed how Russia began deploying North Korean soldiers.
