On the evening of February 11, a fire broke out in a geriatric boarding house in the Odessa region. The fire has been extinguished, but there are fatalities.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odessa region.
According to emergency services, the fire occurred in the geriatric boarding house located in the village of Maligonovo, Berezovsky district. The flames covered an area of 100 square meters.
The State Emergency Service extinguished the fire at the facility. However, during the firefighting efforts, rescuers discovered the bodies of three victims.
During the fire, six residents of the geriatric boarding house suffered from smoke inhalation. They were transported to the hospital by paramedics.

A total of 17 people were evacuated from the geriatric facility. Staff members managed to lead them out of the burning building before the rescue service arrived. All evacuees were directed to a medical institution.
Psychologists from the State Emergency Service were also present at the scene. They provided assistance to 10 affected individuals. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Recall that recently, a fire occurred in Kryvyi Rih in one of the high-rise buildings in the Pokrovsk district. People were also injured in that incident. According to rescuers, an apartment on the third floor of the high-rise was on fire. Emergency services were able to save a child, but a man and two women sustained injuries.
