Last night, Odessa was subjected to a Russian air attack using strike drones. As a result of the shelling, residential buildings in the city were damaged, and fires broke out.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Odessa City Council.
In a statement from the Odessa City Council, it was noted that preliminary data regarding the aftermath of the enemy drone attack indicated "damage to residential buildings and the ignition of 4 passenger cars."
It was also emphasized that no information about casualties or injuries has been received.
Recall that the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported early in the morning that Russian invaders had launched a new group of strike drones towards the Odessa region, coming from the Black Sea area.
Additionally, later in Odessa's public forums, reports began to emerge about the operation of air defense in the region and explosions that were heard around the city.
According to Odessa's mayor Gennady Trukhanov, three injuries have been reported so far. In particular, another person was rescued from a blocked apartment.
"Windows were shattered by the blast wave. City services are working on-site to clear the aftermath of the attack. We are setting up an operational headquarters where applications for financial assistance can be submitted and materials for temporary closure of openings can be obtained," - he added.
The Russian army launched strike drones towards Ukraine on the night of January 28, and air raid alerts were sounded in nearly half of the country's regions at various times.
Reports came in about air defense operations in the Kyiv region. The capital itself was also attacked by enemy drones, although no information about any potential consequences has emerged.
Explosions were heard in Kharkiv due to the "Shahed" attack. A significant fire broke out in industrial premises. There were two injuries – a woman and a child (both experiencing acute stress).
The State Emergency Service shared videos and photos of the aftermath of the drone attack on Kharkiv.
Head of the OVA Oleg Synegubov also reported that in Kharkiv and the surrounding area, there were other locations of "arrivals," fires, and damage to civilian infrastructure, resulting in two injuries.
In Chernihiv, an explosion also occurred amid the "Shahed" attack, leading to partial destruction of two private buildings due to falling debris from the Russian drones, along with a fire.
