In Odessa, explosions were heard late in the evening on November 8. Kamikaze drones from the Russian occupiers were heading towards the city for yet another attack.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Oleg Kiper and local media.
The explosions in the Odessa area occurred around 11:45 PM.
Prior to this, the Air Forces had reported the detection of a group of "Shaheds" moving towards Odessa and the Bay. The military specified that the enemy had launched them for an attack from the southern direction.
Odessa media report that combat operations of air defense forces and assets are underway in the city, particularly aimed at intercepting enemy strike drones.
According to the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, Odessa and the surrounding area are under enemy airstrike. Combat operations to shoot down "Shaheds" are ongoing.
"The enemy is attacking Odessa and the surrounding area with strike drones. Our air defense forces are engaged," the official stated on Telegram.
Additionally, local residents are advised to remain in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted.
Later, Odessa media reported a significant fire in one of the city's residential complexes due to a "hit" during the drone attack.
However, there is no confirmation of this information. Local authorities have not made statements regarding the consequences of the drone strike on Odessa.
It should be noted that the air raid alert in the Odessa region was reported to be lifted around 12:45 AM.
Furthermore, footage of the burning building and photos of the fire suppression efforts have been shared online.
Earlier, it was reported that on the evening of November 8, the launch of kamikaze drones by Russian occupiers against Ukraine was recorded for yet another aerial attack. Later, the Air Forces revealed that the group of "Shaheds" was heading towards the Odessa region.
Recall that just days earlier, the Odessa region also suffered a drone strike—explosions were heard in the Odessa district late on November 7. Moreover, throughout the night, Russian terrorists continued to attack both Odessa and the region with drones.
As a result of the enemy shelling, private residential houses were damaged, and Lyceum No. 125 was also affected by the strike. Additionally, on the morning of October 7, Odessa also suffered from a drone attack by the occupiers.
