In Mykolaiv, a fire broke out in a high-rise building as a result of a nighttime enemy airstrike using combat drones. The roof of the building is on fire.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim.

The official provided preliminary information about the consequences of the drone attack on Mykolaiv during the night of December 28.

"As a result of the shelling by 'Shaheds', the roof of a high-rise building is reportedly on fire. Information is being clarified," he stated in his Telegram channel.

The head of the regional administration added that emergency services have arrived at the scene.

The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, disseminated this message from the head of the regional administration regarding the fire caused by the Russian attack on the city.

The city mayor also mentioned that the air raid alert in the region is still ongoing.

Updated: Fire extinguished

At 02:27, the head of the regional administration, Kim, reported that the fire in Mykolaiv was extinguished following the Russian drone attack.

"At the moment, there are no casualties," the official added.

Updated: Consequences clarified

Later, Mayor Senkevych reported that due to the 'Shahed' attack, part of the roof of the building was damaged, and windows were shattered.

According to him, there are no significant damages, and municipal services are already working at the site. The adjacent area will also be inspected.

Night drone strike on Mykolaiv

Earlier, it was reported that in the evening prior, the launch of kamikaze drones by Russian occupiers towards Ukraine was recorded. Enemy strike UAVs approached from the southern direction.

Around half past midnight on December 28, explosions were heard in the area of Mykolaiv. Prior to this, movement of enemy strike drones towards the regional center was observed.

Additionally, around 01:25, repeated sounds of explosions were heard in Mykolaiv.
