Moldova has announced it lacks the technical capabilities to detect Russian drones.

In Moldova, existing radars are unable to identify drones due to their small reflective surface. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova summoned the Russian ambassador following the fall of Russian drones on its territory.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Moldova, Anatoliy Nosatyy, as reported by RBK-Ukraine, referencing Realitatea.

According to him, the drone recently found near a shopping center in Chisinau resembles those that have been detected lately. However, he struggled to explain how the unmanned aerial vehicle ended up among the branches.

He also mentioned that Moldova will soon find ways to purchase new systems to timely detect drones.

"I just want to emphasize that the configuration (of the drones – ed.) actually does not allow them to be detected by the radars we have in service. They also have a rather small reflective surface. These drones have a range of 1000-1300 kilometers, which allows them to cross Ukrainian territory from the launch site," Nosatyy stated.

Unknown Drones in Moldova

On November 17, the Russian army launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, utilizing about 120 missiles and 90 drones, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Earlier, on November 10, two drones were discovered on the territory of Moldova, which had entered during another attack by Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova firmly condemned Russia's actions. The Ukrainian Air Forces noted that some drones strayed off course, ending up in Belarus and Moldova.

And yesterday, a passerby discovered a drone near one of the shopping centers in the capital of Moldova - Chisinau.
