A state of emergency of a regional nature has been declared in the occupied Crimea. The reason for this is the oil spill in the Black Sea.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing Russian media.
The corresponding decree was issued by the Gauleiter of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov. The area affected by the state of emergency includes the territory of the Kerch district and the Leninsky district of Crimea.
On December 25, due to the oil spill caused by the tanker accident in the Kerch Strait, a regional state of emergency was declared in the Krasnodar Krai. The following day, a federal state of emergency was announced in the region.
Recall that on December 15, two Russian tankers, "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239," sank in the Kerch Strait due to a severe storm.
Additionally, on December 17, another tanker had an accident near the port of "Caucasus" in the Black Sea. It became known that there was an oil leak into the Black Sea, leading to pollution along the coast of Krasnodar Krai.
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy explained that the Russian tankers sank because they went to sea without adhering to maritime navigation requirements. Satellite images of oil-contaminated beaches in Russia have been shared online.
