A university dormitory in Kyiv was on fire (photos available).

On December 15, a dormitory at one of the universities in Kyiv caught fire. Reports are circulating about the dormitory of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD).

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Kyiv State Emergency Service (SES), along with a comment from the press center's head, Pavlo Petrov.

"On December 15 at 09:02, a report was received about a fire on Leipzig Street. The fire occurred on the third floor, in one of the rooms of the educational institution's dormitory," - said the SES.

According to the rescuers, the fire was extinguished by 09:35 over an area of 5 square meters. During the firefighting efforts, 11 people were evacuated from the upper floors to fresh air.

Online discussions suggest that this incident involves the KNUTD dormitory. However, Pavlo Petrov, the head of the SES press center, declined to confirm that the fire occurred in this specific building, only mentioning the address where the incident took place - Leipzig Street, 16.

According to Google Maps, dormitory No. 7 of the mentioned university is located at this address. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
