German law enforcement has recently reported an increase in violations of the country's airspace. Authorities believe this is part of Russia's hybrid warfare.

This information comes from RBK-Ukraine, referencing BILD.

BILD reports that in December of last year, there was a mass drone incursion over the territory of Rhineland-Palatinate. Drones were spotted near military installations.

According to a representative of the Ministry of the Interior, in 2024 alone, the police in Rhineland-Palatinate received "about 100 reports" concerning unidentified drones.

"The use of large drones for surveillance of security-related sites is noticeably increasing in Germany. They are believed to be part of Russia's hybrid warfare," stated officials from the German Ministry of the Interior.

As per BILD, none of these drones have been intercepted or shot down.

Particularly concerning are the reconnaissance flights of drones over airports and military facilities of the Bundeswehr and the U.S. Armed Forces in Germany. Notably, these include U.S. bases in Ramstein and Spangdahlem.

It is emphasized that these are not "commercial hobby drones." The operational range of such large drones can technically "exceed 188 kilometers," suggesting that their takeoffs and landings occur outside of Germany.

Unidentified Drones Over Military Installations in Europe

It is worth noting that unidentified drones have repeatedly flown over military sites in various European countries, potentially linked to Russia.

In particular, in November, small unmanned aerial vehicles flew over U.S. military bases in Britain.

Additionally, in early 2024, reports emerged from Germany indicating that unidentified drones were regularly spotted over military bases where Ukrainian defenders are trained.
