Wives of combat veterans are entitled to significant support from the government, but not everyone is aware of this.
The benefits available to the spouses of combat veterans are outlined in the Law of Ukraine "On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection".

Wives of combat participants are eligible for discounts on utility services. Families of military personnel with this status can receive a 75% discount on housing payments, as well as on fuel for homes without centralized heating. Additionally, a 75% discount is provided for gas, electricity, and other utility services; for individuals with disabilities, this discount is 100%. Discounts are calculated based on 21 square meters of living space per person and an additional 10.5 square meters for the entire family. If all family members are unable to work, the gas heating discount is 75% for 42 square meters per person and 21 square meters for the entire family.
To apply for benefits, spouses of combat participants can submit their application in several ways. This can be done by sending documents by mail, visiting the service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, utilizing “Diya. Signature” through the mobile application “Diya,” or through their personal account on the Pension Fund’s web portal.
