Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia: Fedorov explains the high number of casualties in the city.

The Russian army launched an attack on the industrial area of Zaporizhzhia yesterday afternoon. This occurred as locals were preparing to head home after their work shifts.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, in a comment to the YouTube channel RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, the Russian army struck the city at the moment when residents were getting ready to go home from work. They were using public transport, which is why there were casualties.

"They used minivans, and that’s why people died in the minivans, with two minivan vehicles destroyed. They were getting into their cars, which is why 36 vehicles were wrecked. So yes, indeed, this is an industrial area where residents were simply finishing their shifts and heading home," Fedorov explained.

He noted that guided aerial bombs (GABs) are quite imprecise weapons, so it doesn’t matter where the Russians initially aimed. Fedorov reminded that since the 20th of September last year, the enemy has been almost constantly shelling Zaporizhzhia. Approximately 2,000 residential buildings have already been destroyed or damaged there.

"The enemy targets residential areas and civilian residents. All 113 injured are purely civilians. We can see where their GAB hit. Yes, it did damage some administrative buildings, but both GABs fell directly next to the roadway," he emphasized.

Russia's Strike on Zaporizhzhia

Recall that yesterday, around four o'clock in the afternoon, Russian terrorists struck Zaporizhzhia with GABs. Two guided bombs hit residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, with the impact occurring on the central street of the residential area.

As a result of the strike, there are reports of 13 fatalities and over 110 injuries.
