In Mykolaiv, during the night of December 28, two incidents of fire were reported as a result of a Russian drone strike, and firefighters have already extinguished the blazes. There were no casualties from the drone attack.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Facebook page of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region.
The emergency services clarified that the fires occurred overnight in the Ingul district of Mykolaiv.
Firefighters extinguished a blaze covering an area of 5 square meters on the roof of a five-story residential building. Additionally, a fire in the reeds covering 1000 square meters was also put out.
"No information about injuries has been received," the State Emergency Service reported.
Emergency responders also informed that the roof of the residential building was partially destroyed, and windows were shattered.
"A total of 23 firefighters and 8 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the aftermath of the shelling. The Red Cross of Ukraine's Rapid Response Team assisted the citizens," the State Emergency Service stated.
Furthermore, rescuers showcased photos of the aftermath of the Russian drone attack on Mykolaiv that occurred last night.
In the morning, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, reported on his Telegram that around 01:20 last night, the occupiers attacked Mykolaiv with strike drones of the "Shahed 131/136" type.
"As a result of combat operations and falling debris, a fire broke out on the roof of a five-story residential building and dry grass on the territory of an industrial enterprise. Both fires were promptly extinguished by firefighters," the official stated.
Recall that since the evening of December 27, the launch of kamikaze drones by Russian occupiers towards Ukraine was recorded. The enemy's strike UAVs approached from the southern direction.
During the night of December 28, explosions were heard in Mykolaiv against the backdrop of the drone attack.
Later, local authorities reported that the roof of a residential building was on fire in Mykolaiv as a result of the nighttime enemy airstrike.
