The Security Service, in collaboration with the National Police, thwarted an attempt by Russian special services to carry out a terrorist attack against Ukrainian law enforcement in Bukovina. Two agents from the Russian Federation were apprehended.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the SBU, two agents of the Russian Federation were detained in the Vyzhnytsia district of Chernivtsi region. They had planned to detonate a police unit that was supposed to respond to a fake call to 102.
Investigators found that the suspects had planted an improvised explosive device in an abandoned outbuilding, equipped with screws for maximum impact. The explosives were hidden in a garbage bag, and nearby, in a juice box, there was a mobile phone set up to record the entrance to the building.
The detainees used remote access to the phone and planned to trigger the explosion at the moment the police entered the building. By that time, the agents were supposed to have fled.

During searches of the detainees' homes, mobile phones containing evidence of the planned terrorist act were confiscated. Additionally, components for explosives were found in their premises. They face up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
Earlier, we reported that employees of the SBU in the Rivne region informed RBK-Ukraine that two terrorists had been detained in the area. Law enforcement officials prevented the commission of terrorist acts.
We also mentioned that a few days ago, an explosion occurred at the Rivne regional recruitment center (TCK), shattering windows in the building.
