Russian invaders launched over ten strikes on the city of Zaporizhzhia during the night of February 1. This hostile attack has become one of the most massive.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.
"The enemy inflicted more than 10 strikes on Zaporizhzhia. This is the most significant attack in recent times," the official stated in a publication on his Telegram channel.
The head of the regional administration noted that the consequences of the shelling are being assessed. All emergency services are working on-site.
At the same time, the official informed that preliminary data indicates there were no casualties.
"The enemy's attack continues. An alarm has been declared across the entire region. Do not neglect safety rules," he emphasized.
Later, he added that private homes in Zaporizhzhia were damaged due to the shelling. Windows were shattered, and roofs were affected.
Efforts to assess the consequences of the enemy attack on the city are ongoing.
It is also worth mentioning that monitoring groups reported explosions in Zaporizhzhia following an enemy aerial attack using drones, after which the city experienced partial power outages.
Zaporizhzhia's Telegram channels also reported that fires broke out in the city amid the enemy drone attack.
According to the head of the regional administration, Fedorov, it has been clarified that the enemy directed 16 drones at the city of Zaporizhzhia for strikes.
"As a result of the attack, an infrastructure facility, multi-story buildings, and private homes were damaged. More than 400 subscribers are without power," he reported.
Later, the head of the regional administration stated that, preliminarily, there were no casualties in Zaporizhzhia due to the Russian drone attack.
"Specialists from the State Emergency Service, energy workers, municipal services, and medical teams are on standby to address the aftermath," the official explained.
The head of the regional administration released a video around 04:10 showcasing some of the consequences of the Russian drone attack on Zaporizhzhia that night. He also mentioned that an educational institution was damaged due to the shelling.
Later, the regional administration head reported that as a result of the Russian strikes, an educational institution, homes, and vehicles were damaged in Zaporizhzhia. The official shared photos and added that municipal workers have already begun addressing the aftermath of the enemy attack.
Recall that on the evening before, Russian invaders launched several groups of strike drones against Ukraine for yet another attack, and due to the threat of "Shahed" attacks, an air alert was declared in several regions.
Reports mentioned the operation of air defense in the Kyiv region, where enemy UAVs were spotted. Additionally, explosions were heard in Kyiv.
Furthermore, in addition to the drone strike, Russian invaders launched missiles at Ukraine during the night. Amid this attack, strong explosions were heard in Odesa.
It is notable that this nighttime missile strike occurred just a few hours after the enemy shelled the center of Odesa using ballistic missiles.
