Russian forces launched a drone attack on port infrastructure in the Izmail region during the night.

Russian invaders launched drone attacks on the Izmail district of the Odessa region during the night of January 17. The target of the shelling was the local port infrastructure.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Oleg Kiper.

According to the official, there was intense activity from air defense forces and assets in repelling the enemy attack in the region.

The head of the OVA noted on his Telegram channel that there were no fatalities or injuries in the Izmail district amid the enemy drone strike.

"As a result of the shelling, there are damages to the facades of buildings and a residential house," he mentioned.

The official also informed that "all relevant services are working at the scene."

"Law enforcement is documenting the aftermath of yet another terrorist act by the Russians against the civilian population of the Odessa region," the administration head stated.

Night Attack by the RF Using Drones

We remind you that on the evening of January 16, Russian troops launched several groups of strike drones at Ukraine for another air attack.

On the night of January 17, the mayor of Izmail, Andrey Abramchenko, reported on the air defense response due to enemy drones in his Telegram. Meanwhile, monitoring channels reported explosions in the vicinity of the cities of Izmail and Kiliya.

Additionally, on January 16 at 22:45, air defense operations were underway in the Kyiv region due to the detection of enemy UAVs.

Later that night, it was revealed that in the Kyiv region, a child was injured due to falling debris from downed enemy UAVs in one of the settlements. A fire also broke out in a café-store and an attached boiler house, covering an area of nearly 200 square meters.
