The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was preparing for an offensive in Zaporizhzhia. However, he abandoned his plans.

This was stated by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, in a comment to the YouTube channel RBC-Ukraine.

"I believe that Putin was preparing and then decided against the offensive in Zaporizhzhia because we have been very well prepared, and we owe that to the military. They have greatly assisted the military, thanks to their requests and the mutual understanding and collaboration," Fedorov said.

According to him, there is currently no significant threat to the Zaporizhzhia frontline. However, it is difficult to predict what will happen in 2 or 3 months.

"We can confirm the facts as they stand today. How are we preparing? We are building a multi-layered defense in the Zaporizhzhia region together with the military, which covers not only the defensive lines directly on the front but also a circular defense around Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Kamyshuvakha, Velyka Novosilka, and Zaporizhzhia itself, consisting of three defensive lines," he explained.

Fedorov noted that efforts are currently being made to protect the Zaporizhzhia region with concrete structures in fortification works.

The Situation in Zaporizhzhia Region

Last autumn, information began to circulate about the Russians preparing for a large-scale offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region. At that time, there were reports of an alleged threat to the city of Zaporizhzhia.

In November, the Defense Forces reported that Russian occupiers had intensified their activities in the Zaporizhzhia region. However, according to the military, the enemy lacks sufficient strength for a major offensive.

According to sources from RBC-Ukraine, the start of the occupiers' operations in the Zaporizhzhia region was expected around December 5. More details can be found in the RBC-Ukraine article.
