The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) suspects officials from a Ukrainian holding company of collaborating with Russia. The accused face up to 12 years behind bars.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, between 2023 and 2024, the individuals were involved in the construction of a liquefied gas production plant in the Rostov region. The manufactured products were loaded onto tankers of Russia's "shadow fleet," with a significant portion of the profits funding the war against Ukraine.
The SBU uncovered a developer of equipment and a project engineer from the Ukrainian holding in the Kyiv region. It was established that both suspects developed all the design documentation for the plant in Russia and its technological capabilities.
The officials funneled completed designs to Russian clients through a co-owner of the Ukrainian holding, who is located in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region. This individual owns five companies in the city of Shakhty in the Rostov region, which supply equipment to gas stations of the sanctioned corporations "Gazprom" and "Lukoil."
Additionally, a collaborator was detained in the Poltava region, who operates a network of gas stations in the occupied territory and fuels Russian military vehicles.
The SBU has announced suspicions against three detainees for aiding Russia (Part 1, Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The perpetrators are in custody and face up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
Crimes committed by the co-owner of the Ukrainian holding and the director of the gas station network, who are outside the territory controlled by Ukraine, have also been classified under this article.
