PrivatBank may impose restrictions on the accounts of clients engaging in cryptocurrency transactions – this explanation was provided by bank representatives.

This information was reported by the portal "Minfin".

A bank client shared that after exchanging cryptocurrency onto his card, PrivatBank imposed limitations on its use and requested proof of income. The man provided the necessary documents, including a salary certificate for the year, but the restrictions remained in place.

"I am reaching out to PrivatBank support due to the situation with my account. After exchanging cryptocurrency onto my card, restrictions were placed on it, and I was asked to explain the movement of funds. I submitted all required documents, including an official salary certificate for the year, but the restrictions persist," — reported the PrivatBank client.

Although the funds remain on the card, they are currently unusable. At the PrivatBank hotline, the client did not receive any specific explanations, leading him to submit a written inquiry.

"The chat operator does not provide any specific information at all; regarding my question about why the use of my own funds is restricted, despite having submitted all documents, including official ones, there was no concrete response from him," — the PrivatBank client added.

In response to the inquiry, PrivatBank representatives noted that all actions are carried out in accordance with current legislation and regulatory acts of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) governing banking activities. PrivatBank emphasized that the measures taken are justified by internal procedures aimed at ensuring financial security and compliance with financial monitoring requirements in Ukraine.
