Over 1,600 measures were applied: it has been revealed how many times Russia struck Kyiv this year.

This year, Kyiv experienced 500 air raid alarms during which the Russian army launched 200 strikes on the capital.

According to RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.

He noted that the Russian forces used over 1,600 different types of munitions against peaceful Kyiv:

• over 1,300 drones;
• more than 200 cruise missiles (X-101/X-59/X-69/Iskander-K/Caliber);
• 24 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M/KH-23);
• 22 air-launched ballistic missiles "Dagger";
• 7 hypersonic missiles "Zircon".

He emphasized that the most massive attack on Kyiv was a combined strike, during which the enemy simultaneously used 78 munitions, including 49 X-101 missiles and 10 "Dagger" air-launched ballistic missiles. This year, Kyiv endured 6 massive and 14 combined air strikes.

In 2024, Russia damaged nearly 550 residential buildings in Kyiv.

Shelling of Kyiv and the Region

Recall that in the morning of December 20, the Russian army struck Kyiv. Following the air raid alert, several explosions were heard in the capital.

Subsequently, the Kyiv City State Administration released information and images of the destruction caused by this shelling.

It is worth noting that during this attack, the St. Nicholas Church in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv was damaged. Windows were shattered, and stained glass fell from the historic building.
