A severe fire broke out at a hotel in the Turkish ski resort of Kartalkaya. According to the latest reports, 66 fatalities have been confirmed.

This was stated by Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing CNN Turk.

"We declare that at this moment we have lost 66 lives. We extend our condolences to the families of our citizens who have died. I wish a speedy recovery to our citizens who are receiving treatment," Yerlikaya stated.

He specified that the hotel where the fire occurred has 12 floors. At the time of the fire, there were 238 guests registered in the hotel. The fire has been extinguished, but rescue operations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, Turkey's Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu clarified that as a result of the incident, an additional 51 people were injured. 17 of them have been sent home for recovery, while one remains in critical condition.

The fire began at night, around 03:00 local time (02:00 Kyiv time). According to the latest official information, 10 fatalities and 32 injuries were reported.
