A former teacher from a vocational school in Kherson has been detained in Kyiv for assisting Russian occupiers in the deportation of six Ukrainian children.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Details of the Case

During the occupation, the traitor collaborated with the enemy, after which she was appointed as the "deputy director" of the occupying institution and tasked with organizing the forced relocation of six minor students to temporarily occupied Crimea.

"To do this, the children were first evicted from the institution's dormitory and illegally transported to the left bank of the Kherson region. From there, they were taken by bus to the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula," the SBU adds.

In Crimea, the children were "confined" in one of the local camps. Following this, they were given pro-Kremlin literature and began preparations for their future enlistment in the ranks of Russian occupying forces.

After the de-occupation of Kherson, the traitor fled to Kyiv, hoping to evade justice.

Potential Consequences

The detained individual has been informed of the suspicion under part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - war crimes committed in conspiracy by a group of individuals. She faces 12 years in prison.

"Additionally, an in absentia suspicion of war crimes has been reported against the former occupying 'director' of the Kherson vocational school and his subordinate 'educator,' who are hiding in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine," the SBU adds.
