Employees of the National Police have detained a staff member of the Central Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC). She is accused of accepting a bribe of 2 thousand dollars.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the National Police.
The police claim that the deputy chairperson of the commission facilitated the granting of a disability status of the II group, which allowed men to be removed from military registration.
"For such a service, she requested a 'reward' of two thousand dollars," the police stated.
The police have released photos of the dollars, as well as blurred faces of police officers and other unidentified individuals.
It should be noted that in early October, law enforcement conducted searches at the head of the Khmelnytsky MSEC, Tatyana Krupa, who was found with 100 thousand dollars, as well as counterfeit medical documents and lists of "draft dodgers" with names and fictitious diagnoses.
Subsequently, it became known that Krupa aided around 50 prosecutors from the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor's Office in obtaining "disability" status.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky convened the National Security and Defense Council due to the scandal involving the "disability" of prosecutors. Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin decided to resign, a decision later confirmed by the Verkhovna Rada.
Zelensky also signed a decree to dissolve the MSEC, which marked the beginning of preparations for reforming this system.
The Cabinet of Ministers submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada regarding the reform and dissolution of the MSEC. Instead of the MSEC, assessments will be carried out by practicing doctors based in cluster and super-cluster multidisciplinary hospitals.
