Police have apprehended a suspect in the murder of a military serviceman from the TCC in the Poltava region.

The police have apprehended a suspect in the murder of a military officer from the TCK in Pyriatyn, Poltava region. A mobilized individual who fled alongside him has also been detained.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the police of Poltava region.

"Within a few hours of investigative measures, we located the assailants," said the head of the Poltava police, Yevhen Rohachev.

It turned out that the shooter is a resident of Poltava region born in 1984. His accomplice is a resident of Poltava born in 1988.

"During an urgent search, investigators seized the weapon from the assailant. The question of notifying the suspects of their charges and choosing a preventive measure for them is being resolved," he added, noting that the criminals have been detained.

In this case, the investigative department of the police, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, has initiated a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings opened under part 1 of article 115, part 3 of article 262, and part 2 of article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The sanctions of these articles provide for imprisonment of seven to fifteen years.
