In the Kherson region, two bomb disposal experts lost their lives while attempting to defuse the warhead of a strike drone.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegram from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
It was noted that two bomb disposal officers from Zaporizhzhia - Senior Lieutenant Alexey Safonov and Lieutenant Ilya Dergilev - were conducting the demining in one of the villages of the Belozersk territorial community.
"During the neutralization of the warhead of an unexploded UAV, a detonation occurred. The law enforcement officers sustained fatal injuries," the report states.

Recall that over the weekend, Russian occupiers shelling nearly fifty populated areas in the Kherson region, including Kherson itself. Artillery and aviation were used for the strikes.
As a result of the shelling, one person was killed and two others were injured. The occupiers targeted social infrastructure and residential neighborhoods. High-rise buildings, private homes, a storage facility, and private vehicles were damaged.
It was also reported that during the shelling, a part of Kherson was left without heat and electricity, with significant damage to the power grid in the Dnipro district. Trolleybus traffic was temporarily restricted.
