Two agents of the Russian Federation (RF) have been apprehended for planning to use a GPS tracker to monitor the special vehicles escorting columns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at the front.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Case Details

Both agents were arrested in the Kirovohrad region, with one of the detainees being a minor.

"To carry out the enemy's mission, the suspects were supposed to secretly install a GPS tracker on a special vehicle accompanying the AFU columns. In this way, the enemy planned to monitor the movement routes and arrival points of Ukrainian troops in the frontline areas of our country in real-time," the SBU reports.

To assist in this operation, the enemy recruited a 20-year-old unemployed individual from the Kyiv region who was seeking "easy" money through Telegram. He then traveled to the Kirovohrad region and began gathering information about the locations and movements of military columns, involving a 17-year-old local resident in the process.

"At the agent's direction, the minor tracked the parking location of the AFU's special vehicle. Waiting for dusk, he attempted to attach a 'tracker' to it. At that moment, he was apprehended by SBU officers. Simultaneously, the Ukrainian special service detained the main agent coordinating the criminal activities of the minor," the SBU adds.

It was also established that the 20-year-old agent was additionally documenting the locations of territorial recruitment and social support centers (TRC and SSP) and the parking areas of Ukrainian military vehicles for the enemy.

Consequences

The 20-year-old traitor has been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - treason committed under martial law. He faces life imprisonment.

The minor, in turn, is currently cooperating with the investigation.

As a reminder, RBK-Ukraine reported that a traitor was detained in Khmelnytskyi who was preparing a terrorist attack near the defense forces at the request of Russian intelligence services.
