On the night of October 19, Russian terrorists shelled the Shostka community in the Sumy region. The number of casualties from the attack has risen to 11 individuals.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Facebook post from the mayor of Shostka, Nikolai Noga.

According to the mayor, last night the Russian aggressor launched a massive attack on the Shostka community. The enemy targeted the area with guided aerial bombs and Shahed-type strike drones, three of which were shot down by air defense forces.

Preliminary reports indicate that one person has died, and eleven individuals sustained injuries of varying severity.

"Several critical infrastructure facilities have been damaged, including 2 schools, a kindergarten, a clinic, a number of medical institutions, and 28 multi-story buildings. Most residents of the community are left without electricity and water," Noga noted.

The mayor added that emergency recovery operations are currently underway at the disaster sites, and the debris removal work is nearing completion.

A headquarters for addressing the aftermath of the enemy attack has been established, where homeowners with damaged properties can seek assistance. Points of invincibility and backup generators are operational.
