A massive fire broke out at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort, located in northern Turkey. It is reported that at least 10 people have died, while several dozen others have sustained injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire ignited around 03:30 local time (02:00 Kyiv time) on the fourth floor of the 11-story Grand Kartal hotel. There were 234 guests staying at the hotel. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
As a result of the fire, 10 people have died, two of whom fell from a height, and 32 individuals were injured. According to the governor of the region, Abdulaliz Aydin, the deceased and the injured are Turkish citizens.
It is also known that those evacuated from the building have already been accommodated in other hotels in the region. The fire on the lower floors was extinguished in the following hours thanks to the intervention of firefighting teams.
The Kartalkaya ski resort is situated atop the Koroglu Mountains and is popular among locals. The resort is approximately 40 kilometers from the city of Bolu and 270 kilometers from Istanbul.
