For Russians, it is currently not practical to force the Dnipro River. Therefore, statements about an offensive in the Kherson region are merely an escalation.
This was stated in a comment to the YouTube channel RBC-Ukraine by Ivan Timochko, the chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces.
Timochko noted that the Russians are still unable to advance near Pokrovsk or fully occupy Kurakhove.
"If we consider the Vremeevsky, Kurakhovsky, and Pokrovsky directions, the Russians have currently deployed 150,000 of their troops there. This is on land territory. This takes into account that the logistical network is much closer from Russia, as they have control over the land territory of Ukraine," Timochko explained.
He believes that the situation in the Kherson region is entirely different. Even with better support, the Russians were forced to flee from Kherson.
"I think there is a certain informational escalation happening there, possibly with a planned distracting manner. And this will likely be accompanied by a significant information campaign," he stated.
Recall that, according to sources from RBC-Ukraine, Moscow plans to intensify combat operations in the Zaporizhzhia region and the right bank of Kherson.
In particular, the speaker of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladislav Voloshin, reported that the occupiers had already attempted to cross the Dnipro near the Antonovsky Bridge but did not even reach the middle.
