According to the Ministry of Economy, the current number of reserved military personnel stands at 950 thousand individuals.
As reported by TSN, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko refuted the claim that 1.5 million men received deferments from mobilization, stating that this figure is one-third inflated due to "duplication" of data.
"At our peak, we had 950 thousand 'unique reservations.' When the reservation process through Diia was introduced, at one point the statistics rose to 1.049 million people, but this was due to duplication, as some companies submitted documents both in paper and electronic formats simultaneously," Ms. Svyrydenko noted.
She added that as of the end of October, 906 thousand men have active reservations.
To enhance the transparency of the reservation process, the government has initiated an audit. This may lead to changes in how the status of critical deferment enterprises is determined. It is noted that new reservations are no longer being issued, and the procedures introduced after October 25 apply only to employees reserved before May 31.
"The reason for the audit is the abnormal increase in the number of critically important enterprises and the number of reserved workers. This is done in the interest of strengthening the state's defense capability and preventing abuses," the official explained.
