Recently, there has been a significant increase in news about sabotage in military recruitment centers and police departments. Russian special services are targeting individuals who are less media-savvy and those in need of quick cash.

This was stated by the head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, Andrey Kovalenko, in a comment to RBK-Ukraine.

"And this primarily includes youth, teenagers, those who live in their own information space," he explained.

Kovalenko noted that the age of the saboteurs plays a crucial role. In Ukraine, citizens are mobilized starting from the age of 25, while the overwhelming majority of Russian "agents" are under 24.

This fact essentially nullifies Russian narratives about strong resistance to mobilization, which reaches extreme measures. These acts of sabotage are unrelated to any mobilization efforts. Most often, they involve young individuals who have just transitioned out of adolescence. They are either in need of money or guided by their own, often inexplicable, logic.

"Among them, there are individuals who may be part of certain Russian groups, so-called 'antifa.' They may resemble a person suspected of the murder of Irina Faryon. For them, this is an adventure, especially since it involves money. They believe they are above the war, that the war is a political matter, and they have a greater mission. There are such individuals among the youth. Subcultures exist to stand out, and these individuals attempt to distinguish themselves with their views on life," Kovalenko said.

According to him, trying to reach out to these individuals, calling for patriotism, or promoting "pro-Ukrainian" sentiments is futile, as they think in material terms.

"They can only be scared by the loss of life and the fact that they will ultimately be deceived and not receive any money. This is the only way to reach them; all values and patriotism are irrelevant," Kovalenko added.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, there have already been nine acts of sabotage in military recruitment centers and police stations in Ukraine. The latest incident occurred on February 5 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, where a young man attempted to deliver a bag containing explosives to a military enlistment office, accidentally detonating it and dying in the process. All those involved in such terrorist acts have been apprehended.
