Currently, Russian ships are unable to access the Syrian port of Tartus, located in the Mediterranean Sea. This is due to the fact that they have not received permission from local authorities.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, during a telethon.
"The situation in the Mediterranean is quite interesting. They (the Russian ships - ed.) are still at sea. They have not been granted permission to enter the base point... As of now, they have been on the outer raid for several days and cannot enter the port," Pletenchuk explained.
However, he did not specify which particular vessels were involved.
At the same time, according to media reports, the vessel Sparta, which the Russians use to transport military equipment, has been unable to enter the port of Tartus for more than five days.
"Thus, the evacuation of Russian weaponry and equipment from Syria is under threat," writes "Militarny".
After the fall of Bashar Assad's regime, Russia began withdrawing some of its troops from Syria. After some time, Ukrainian intelligence reported that the enemy is facing significant challenges in evacuating soldiers from the country.
We also mentioned that the Russian vessel Ursa Major, which was transporting strategic cargo, sank in the Mediterranean Sea after an explosion in the engine room.
The ship's owner, the company "Oboronlogistika," stated that "three explosions occurred on the starboard side before the sinking." The Russians believe that the ship was blown up.
